Healing Through Play: Play Therapy Certification Series

About this event

Healing Through Play is a 18 month play therapy training series designed to provide 135 of the 150 required CE's for the Association for Play Therapy's RPT credential.

  • 75 hours are provided Hybrid (Contact/InPerson or Non-Contact/LiveWebinar).
  • 60 hours are provided through Book Learning (Non-Contact).
  • The final 15 hours needed for Registered Play Therapist (TM) application is obtained outside the program with guidance from the trainers in order to allow therapists to individualize their learning by focusing on their own modality or theory for the final hours.

These courses can also be taken in a la carte manner as individual 3 hour courses.

This plan would result in 6 payments of $312.50 charged on the first of January, April, June, and September or 2026 and January and April 2027.     Robyn Reyna is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor ™ in Houston, Texas. She is also certified in AutPlay® and is working on a certification in Synergetic Play Therapy as of 2024. She is the founder of Calming Communities Counseling & Wellness, PLLC, an affirming family therapy agency focused on connecting parents, teachers, and kids with a deeper understanding of the neuroscience behind mental health to help our community raise confident, capable, and connected children. Robyn has been providing play therapy for ten years and play therapy trainings for more than seven years, and has presented locally, nationally, and internationally. Robyn’s trainings focus on Adlerian play therapy, neuroaffirming play therapy, and neuroscience-based parenting strategies. Finally, Robyn is a published author of several children’s books focused on child mental health and social navigation topics. She has also published in APT’s Play Today Magazine, several scientific journals, Dr. Grant’s Play Interventions for Neurodivergent Children and Adolescents and Liana Lowenstein’s Assessment and Treatment Activities for Children, Adolescents, and Families.

Training is provided by a Texas LPC-S and counts for the minimum 50% approved provider requirement of the Texas Administrative Code.

Event Learning Objectives

  • Participants will complete 75 credit hours within the program and have guidance towards completing all required CE's for the Association for Play Therapy's RPT credential
  • Participants will demonstrate a well-rounded understanding of the foundations, techniques and skills of play therapy.
  • Participants will engage in activities that foster the development of play therapy skills from a variety of models including Synergetic Play Therapy, Theraplay, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and TraumaPlay.

Payment Plan

Payment plans are available only for the full program ($1875).

Conditions

  • 6 payments of $312.50 each
  • Payments are charged to the card on file quarterly. (January, April, June & September 2026 as well as January and April 2027).
  • Failed payments will result in a $25 fee.


To sign up for the payment plan option participants must follow these steps:

Refund Policy

All refund requests must be made in writing within 15 days of the purchase, and no less than 14 days before the date of the course. Every effort will be made to achieve resolution, including, but not limited to: refund of fees, substitution of course purchased, credit provided for future course.

Technology

1. This virtual event will be hosted via Zoom Webinar, and you may be prompted to download or upgrade your Zoom app if using a mobile device. A strong WiFi connection will be required for best quality.


2. We recommend clicking your "Join Webinar" button early and checking that your speakers are on before the event begins. Please do not worry about being seen or heard! Attendee video feeds and mics are turned off by default when entering a webinar. You will be able to ask questions via the Q&A feature.

Grievance Policy

Calming Communities, PLLC  and Katy Counseling are fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists, and the National Board of Certified Counselors Code of Ethics. APT will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content and in the treatment of program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be responsibility of the CEO and Program Reviewer, Robyn D Reyna.

While Calming Communities, PLLC and Katy Counseling go to great lengths to assure fair treatment for all participants and attempts to anticipate problems, it recognizes that complaints do and will arise. Calming Communities, PLLC and Katy Counseling will do their best to anticipate problems and, when they do present themselves, will attempt to alleviate complaints as quickly as possible.


Grievance Policy

When a complaint, either verbally or written, is filed with Program Reviewer, the following guidelines are followed with respect to achieving resolution:

1. Complaints relative to a speaker or workshop leader, contents of instructional materials being presented, or an individual educational style being utilized, the individual voicing disapproval is requested to first address concerns to the presenter. If the presenter is not available, place his/her comments in writing. Program Reviewer will convey these comments to the speaker while maintaining confidentiality of the complainant.

2. If the complaint concerns a continuing education activity, its content, level of presentation, or facilities in which the event is being held, the Program Reviewer will attempt to resolve the matter as expeditiously as possible. If the offered resolution (resolutions may include, but not be limited to partial/full refund of fees paid; credit toward future event) not satisfactory to the individual filing the complaint, then further action may be taken.
In the latter instance, the individual is requested to place his/her complaint in writing to the attention of the Robyn Reyna. The complaint is then reviewed by the Program Reviewer. A written response will be issued within 30 days of receipt of the written complaint.
Within 30 days of the resolution rendered by the Program Reviewer, the complainant may file a written appeal to the Program Reviewer. The decision of the Program Reviewer is final.

Refund Policy

All refund requests must be made in writing within 15 days of the purchase of home study programs. Every effort will be made to achieve resolution, including, but not limited to: refund of fees, substitution of course purchased, credit provided for future course.
